1. Before tanning, use the exfoliating side on dry skin to gently buff areas where tan tends to cling or develop unevenly, including elbows, knees, ankles and the chest.
2. Switch to the soft velvet side and apply a small amount of self-tan to the mitt. Blend over the skin using circular motions.
3. Use less product over dry areas such as elbows, knees and ankles, and blend carefully around edges for a smooth, even finish.
